How to Change Boot Partition in Windows

When you have two hard drive partitions on your computer, one is set as a boot partition and the other as a secondary drive. If you have Windows installed on two partitions, you can switch the hard drive used to boot your computer. This is accomplished using the "BCDEdit" command in Windows 7. This is a command line utility used to change the boot partition from one drive to another.
Instructions

1.Click the Windows "Start" button. Type "cmd" into the text box located on the pop-up menu. Press "Enter" to open your command line utility.

2.Type "bcdboot c:\windows /s d:" where "c:\windows" is your current operating system directory and "d" is the drive to which you want to transfer boot files. This command transfers boot files from the "windows" directory to the "d" drive.

3.Press "Enter." The command runs and transfers the files. Reboot your computer for the changes to take effect and boot from the new partition.
