How to Make Windows XP Partition Bootable
The Windows XP partition may become unbootable for many different reasons. Sometimes the
addition of a hard drive or partition can interrupt the boot process. Changes in BIOS settings
or even a virus can cause a Windows XP installation to no longer boot. Fixing a corrupt Windows
XP boot partition generally only takes a few minutes to perform. A complete reinstallation of
Windows XP may be necessary.
Instructions
1.Boot from the Windows XP installation disc.
2.Press the "R" key to enter the "Recovery Console".
3.Type "fixboot c:" and press the "Enter" key.
4.Type "fixmbr" and press the "Enter" key.
5.Reboot the computer. The Windows XP partition will now be bootable.
