How to Expand a Partition in Ubuntu

When you first installed your Linux Ubuntu distribution, one of your first tasks was to set up partitions on your hard drive. These partitions allow you to dual boot into different operating systems. After awhile, however, you may find that the way you originally set the partitions up no longer meets your requirements, so you may want to expand a partition.
Instructions

1.Open the GParted program. Click "Applications," then type "GParted" into the search field to locate the program.

2.Click the partition you want to expand. If the menu icons are gray, click the "Partition" menu and select "Unmount."

3.Click the "Resize/Move" icon.

4.Click the "Up" arrow on the "New Size (MiB)" line to increase the partition's size.

5.Click the "Resize/Move" button, then click "Apply."
