How to Expand a Linux Partition

If you use Linux and want to expand one of your partitions, you will be able to within the Linux operating system. The Gnome Partition Editor (GParted) is the inbuilt partition and disk management tool, inbuilt into the Linux operating system. From GParted you can expand existing partitions if that drive has unallocated space on it. This means that your partition within the operating system will grow in size.
Instructions

1.Open your Linux Terminal. Access to this depends on your operating system; check your documentation if unsure.

2.Type "gparted" and press "Enter."

3.Select a drive in the bottom pane of GParted.

4.Select the partition you want to expand. Click "Partition" and then "Restore/Move."

5.Click and drag the edge of the partition to the right to make use of the unallocated space. This expands the partition. Click "Resize."
